Under broad direction, has a good working knowledge of many complex applications and is able to efficiently design and implement Release Management across these applications. Mentor other Release Management engineers. Good understanding of all elements of a successful Release Management program, including, but not limited, to Code change control, Code Inspection, Metrics and Defect Management. Job role contributes to value creation. Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and 7 years of Release Management experience or through 11 years of related and/or development experience. Completion of a masters in Computer Science or similar discipline is preferred.

 

The Landmark DevOps practice is the backbone of the Landmark and Halliburton iEnergy®® cloud and OpenEarth™™ Community.  It is tasked with the development, provisioning, operations, and performance of a global, multi-region, multi-cloud software as a service, and developer integration platform.

Candidates for the Landmark DevOps organization are expected to be cross-functional software developers and systems operations specialists.  Daily activities range from sprint planning and story sizing to modifying and pushing to production global cloud microservices to triaging performance and capacity for global services.

Candidates for the Landmark DevOps organization worry more about infrastructure as code test suite coverage and proper telemetry for deployed production services than job titles and hierarchies.  A passion for machine and service provisioning automation is typical for team members as well as use of open source projects and technologies.

 

Key Position Responsibilities:

The Manager, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a foundational leadership role for the Halliburton-Landmark devops practice.  This role is responsible for building, leading, mentoring, and running the global operations for the iEnergy®® cloud and OpenEarth™™ Community platforms for commercial customers.  Other responsibilities include SRE class operations support for internal facing R&D product team customers who leverage private clouds for daily product development activities.

 

DEVOPS MANAGEMENT STAFFING SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Baseline skills:  minimum 2 years’ experience for at least 3 or more.
  • Programming skills:  minimum 1-year experience with at least 1 language.
  • Advanced skills:  desirable skills for which we offer competitive pay.

 

Baseline Skills

 

  • Management of engineering or operations teams for commercial online operations
  • Deep experience with Agile methodologies
  • Deep experience with top public and private cloud IaaS platforms
    • Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, VMware
  • Experience with software development languages and practices
    • Source Control using Git
  • Deep experience with “infrastructure as code” processes for operations
    • Git, Configuration Mgmt, leveraging APIs
    • Bash Shell Scripting, PowerShell Scripting
