The Halliburton Production Scheduling Team manages five (5) scheduling systems (Sandbox, Development, Quality Assurance, Stage and Production).


Key Responsibilities

  • The team members provide 24X7 on-call support for our production scheduling environment due to the critical nature of jobs numbering approximately one million monthly including both SAP and operating system level jobs. 
  • In addition to managing change of scheduling objects in the systems, the team is also responsible for managing user security via SAP UME in all five systems and we are responsible for Quarterly SOX/SSAT responses and annual audits for the scheduling systems. 
  • Scheduling can be very complex and we provide frequent training on the use of the tool for new users. 
  • Managing the external interface environments and the applications there that enable the transfer of encrypted data to/from our external vendors and financial institutions. 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in CS, MIS, BA or Engineering and 4 years of related experience or 8 years in Systems Development and/or Applications Support which includes experience in Analysis, Design, Programming, Production Selection, Maintenance and/or Support.
  • Working knowledge of functional area and associated applications and information technologies.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Firm understanding of scheduling concepts in general, experience with a major scheduling tool such as SAP BPA, Redwood Cronacle, BMC Control/M.
  • Knowledge and use of SAP, Java (not JavaScript) programming skills and experience.
  • Scripting experience and skills in both Unix/Linux and Windows environments.
  • Understanding and use of cryptography software.
  • Understanding and use of file transfer protocols.
  • Good interpersonal skills. 
  • Training or instructional skills.
