Under general supervision, assists in analysis, modification and design of products and services for assigned projects, which requires working knowledge of materials, components, and their applications. Prepares design calculations and specifications. Develops test procedures, conducts tests and completes test result analysis for assigned projects. Assists in handling field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services. Incorporates Reliability, HSE, and Quality analysis techniques during the design process. Job tasks impact directly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. High School Diploma and a minimum of 2 years related experience but prefers 5 years of experience in a related field required. 10+ year experience is preferred. Completion of an Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred

 

Desired Technical Experience/Capabilities:

  • Proficient in development and implementation of test procedures and techniques, Able to design, setup, and run tests with minimal direction.
  • Comfortable working with high degrees of uncertainty that are inherent to the research environment.
  • Experienced in diagnosing and resolving issues with physical tests
  • Experienced with high pressure / high temperature testing, overhead crane use, and forklift use and safety
  • Working knowledge of fluid systems and equipment
  • Extensive experience with hydraulic pumps, high pressure fittings, flow meters,
  • pressure gauges, and other flow test equipment required
  • Working experience in tests of completion tools is required.
  • Diversified experience with other types of equipment and materials is a plus
  • General fabrication skills with hand and stationary tools.
  • Hands-on experience with basic fabrication equipment for prototyping a plus
  • Working knowledge of electronics and materials a plus
  • Organized, self-motivated, team player, capable of handling multiple assignments concurrently – a must.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with internal and external customers – a must.
  • Willing to learn new things

 

Physical requirements:

  • Able to lift 30lbs
  • Able to wear a respirator
  • Able to stand and move for extended periods
