Duties:          Leveraging competencies in technical software development, along with technologies, tools and standards in the related field; performing analysis to define system scope and objectives needed to develop or modify existing engineering applications, especially in the realm of non-Newtonian flow, solids transport, heat and mass transfer modeling and simulation; choosing and implementing technologies in designing and developing scientific algorithms, coding, testing, trouble-shooting and documenting engineering systems, most often for real time applications, through the new product development process; developing test strategies used in the automated regression testing of these systems and collaborating with external teams to ensure successful development of products for field use; working on projects of moderate to high-level scope and complexity and may require some assistance during certain phases of application systems analysis; assisting in the development of technical assignments and schedules to ensure on-time completion of project deliverables.

 

Requirements:  Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, and 3 years' experience in the job offered or 3 years' software development in hydraulics modeling and simulation experience.

 

Must have 2 years of experience with each of the following: 

  1. Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, including non-Newtonian flows, solids transport, heat and mass transfer modeling and simulation.
  2. Ability to communicate with users and successfully trouble-shoot engineering software applications, most often in real time.
    Must have 1 year of experience with the following:
  3. Knowledge of oil-well planning, drilling and completion operations, drilling and completion fluids, cementing, and/or fracturing fluids, along with down-hole tool technologies.

 Up to 50% travel required to client site for product support.
